About TOBI

TOBI is a prescription inhaled medication for cystic fibrosis patients whose lungs contain bacteria called Pseudomonas aeruginosa. TOBI has not been studied in patients under 6 years of age, in those with a lung function outside of a certain range, or in those whose lungs contain bacteria called Burkholderia cepacia. To find out if TOBI is right for you, speak to your doctor.

What TOBI could mean for you

In clinical studies,* patients taking TOBI had:

  • Improved lung function (FEV1 score)
  • Fewer days in the hospital
  • Less need for IV antipseudomonal antibiotics

*These studies compared people taking TOBI versus placebo.

It is important to take TOBI twice a day as prescribed by your doctor, even if you feel healthy.

There is only one TOBI. Currently, there is no FDA-approved generic version of TOBI.
